About me
Both Meg and AMH are facets of one author whose imagination and passion for writing cannot be contained. AMH Johnson is her as an Independent Author, whereas Meg is her social media tag.

A. M. H. Johnson started writing at her all-girls boarding school in Pennsylvania as a means to pass the time during detention, then continued onto college at Georgia Southern University, where she took her hobby of crafting ridiculous stories, and turned it into a degree, majoring in Literature and Writing. She currently works as a document specialist. When she started her career as an author, she lived in Atlanta, but now her nomadic lifestyle has swept her up again along with, her husband, Joseph, and their small family. No matter where she lives, she will always call the East Coast home.
Things to Know:
Name or Penname – A. M. H. Johnson is my actual name, although I don’t go by my initials generally (there is a long story pertaining to my first two initials being named after feuding grandmothers, so I don’t actually go by them). Most people who know me call me Megan or Meg, which is why my youtube and Tiktok accounts are MegWrites.
Genres – Fantasy, Romance, and Horror.
Writing style – Plantser. I make a plot or outline; however, if something better comes along, the story/ending could change drastically.
Specialties – World-building and character-driven plots. If I’m writing a fantasy book, I generally make a map myself so I can follow my stories. I also have a binder full of notes on the world. It’s very in-depth. As for characters, I see them in my mind most clearly first, and I make a plot based on their wants and desires.
Inspirations – I take a lot from what I’ve experienced in my own life, or what I would do if I were in the situations presented in other stories. But I also like to go into the psychology of my characters, like what drives a character, what they fear, what they want. Music also really helps me visualize scenes.
How long does it take to write a book? – For me, it takes upwards of a year or a year and a half. It really depends on how the story speaks to me. If it’s screaming at me to be done, it could be months. If not …
